AMC Proud of its Crypto Embracement, Calls it a ‘Massive Home Run’

Following massive public enthusiasm for its crypto endeavours, the American entertainment industry giant, AMD Entertainment Holdings, is finally deciding to double down on its crypto initiatives. It is expanding services and payments in both crypto and non-fungible tokens (NFT) plans, and recently claimed that eight different NFT programs are currently being worked on at the company; some have already been launched, and the others will make it to the market soon. But, AMC is increasingly bothered about the legal implications of its moves and wants to stay “on the right side of the law” with its digital currency endeavours.

The company’s cinema chain arm has reportedly started accepting payments in the meme-inspired Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB). AMC currently using the payments provider BitPay since March this year. However, the company is looking into adding support for more coins in the feature.

AMC was also looking into introducing its crypto coin. However, following the environmental impact maintaining and regulating a cryptocurrency can have, the company stated that it still has plans to make, and it wanted to abide by the law.

The embracement of cryptocurrency by AMC is seen as “the Holy Grail” by the company firm’s chairperson and Chief Executive Officer, Adam Aron. He also went on to say that it was the same company that previously was publicly intrigued by the notion of cryptocurrencies.

Coming to the acceptance of NFTs by the company, they have helped AMC boost its theatre ticket sales. AMC mostly uses NFTs as promotional giveaways. The company stated that they are still looking into how NFTs can be used by the company to increase profitability in the years coming up.
